No bacon or ham in this split pea soup - it's all vegetarian and full of filling fiber!

1 | In a large pot, combine split peas and water, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Cover and let simmer until tender (1 hour). |
2 | Add onion, potato, garlic powder, dried parsley, and carrots. Cover and simmer for 1 hour. |
3 | Transfer soup mixture in batches to a blender, and puree until smooth. Return to heat and warm through. |
