Winter squash is wonderful when simmered in a sweet and salty mixture. Serve in place of rice or potatoes with your favorite meal.

1 | Cut squash in half, peel it and remove seeds. Cut into one-inch cubes. |
2 | Place squash into a large pot with 1/2 cup of water. Add the soy sauce and syrup or honey. |
3 | Cover and simmer over medium heat until the squash is fork tender (15-30 minutes.) |
